Bianchi Superpista: we aren’t just into mountain bikes!

You might think of us as a “mountain bike” shop. Maybe that’s because you’ve walked in and seen Tokul dirt on the floor, or smelled the trademark tang of Red Bull wafting off one of our mechanics, or heard someone say “radical brah”, or you’ve been to one of our rides with Smooth Jazz Lines, or…

So maybe you have a point. But at The Polka Dot Jersey, we take bikes with curly bars seriously.

Why? How could we not?! But for the sake of rhetoric (and word counts) here are a few reasons in a neatly numbered list:

  1. Road bikes are in our blood (and our name!)

  2. We work on the most popular road cycling route in Seattle.

  3. We’re also right on the way to Thursday Night Crits at Seward Park.

  4. And most importantly: ALL BIKES DESERVE TO BE PAMPERED & LOVED!

So, with that covered… how can we prove that we’re not just in it for the loam and “the gnar”? This here bike is not just a road bike, but the road bike’s harder-core sibling. Like a mountain bike, it has two wheels. And unlike a mountain bike… everything else!

The average MTB these days features 13,000 gears (and counting!), this bike has 1 and it doesn’t spin independently of the rear wheel.

The average MTB has 2 brakes, one for each wheel. This one has 0!

The average MTB is American, or maybe British. This is Italian— AKA we’re talking really pure, core road status.

With a triple-butted Bianchi aluminum tubeset, this Superpista is a track bike bullet.

But it’s not just about the frame, or about proving that we love all bikes. No, this bike features some truly delectable build choices. Let’s start with the Suzue Pro Max Carbon hubset. Because when you’re talkin’ track bike you simply must be talkin’ NJS. These hubs feature a tasty carbon texture, a boatload of excellent spinnable rotation technology, and holographic labels that will remind you of trading cards. There’s simply nothing to change.

Those awesome hubs are laced to H Plus Son’s classic Archetype rim, and those excellent double-wall aluminum rims are wrapped with Vittoria’s perfect Vittoria Corsa Graphene 2.0 tires.

See? We’ve now proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that we know what we’re talking about when it comes to bikes that don’t have boingy springs front and rear!

Next time you’re looking for a custom road, track, gravel, CX, commuter… build you know where to come and get the best blingy bits on your new favourite bike.
