Bon Jon Pass Bikepacking adventure ride

Back in August, to escape the SeaFair insanity (and take advantage of the PDJ SeaFair hiatus), Jaime and Ethan set out on a 127mi bike packing trip from Kingston, up and over Bon Jon Pass, and back.  The route, appropriately dubbed Gravel SeaFair Getaway, was about 60% paved and 40% unpaved with just over 12k of vertical.

Here is the actual link to the ride they did ==> Bon Jon Seafair Gateway

With two tough days of pedaling ahead, the boys left from Edmonds on the ferry over to Kingston with optimism, and maybe a lil panic.  Both of these guys are very strong, experienced riders, Jaime always stays positive, is the snack master, and can pedal forever, and Ethan, well, Ethan was born in 1999, so he's always fine (you know we love you buddy).

They pushed the first day to get to Quilcyne for lunch before the big climb to their camp spot at mile 55.  I'm not sure how the dialogue went as it got darker and darker, but I'd GUESS, Ethan was keen to get to the true top (mile 60) before camping for the night, and Jaime was ready to set up camp, cook some dinner, and chill under the stars.  Wiser voices prevailed, and the two lads opted to pick one of the 4 awesome camp spots at mile 55 for the night.

Fresh for the last 5 miles of climbing the next morning, camp was packed up and the boys were off to the top.  The next 72miles of smiles still have us wondering if we should make this a Spring PDJ two day event? Who could say for sure.
